It's been a while since I've written. So much has come and gone. The holidays were nice, waiting on Spring to show up. Vacation time is near. Yup, 4 nice weeks of vacation. I'll be glad to be away from work for a while. I do love my job but sometimes you just have to get away. We'll probably get a little stir-crazy after the second week, but it's o.k.
Number 1 and I have a lot of things we're hoping to get done. You know, crap that gets put off time and time again. If we only get one thing done I want it to be the house getting painted. We've waited long enough.
Time to go.

Monday night football, yup, sitting here with #1 watching the game. He almost had a heart attack yesterday because his Chargers barely won by one point. Dinner's a little late today, trying out a new meatball recipie by Paula Deen. It's alot easrier than my other one, hope it tastes as good.
Work was good today. Started training a new pair of Instructors to teach the customer service class, so H, A and myself will finally get a break from it, talk about burning out. We'll be breaking E and S over the next six weeks. V was suppose to break in, maybe he'll join us next week. Once we're done with them I will train a group of 12 new Division Instructors by myself. Not looking forward to all the paperwork.
Well, started planning Thanksgiving dinner today. Number 1 and I were discussing who to include this year in addition to the usual group. He wants to invite Uncle M, I'm o.k. with it, the kids will probably groan. Have to call J to see if she will be joining us this year.
Last years standing rib roast was awesome. Number 1 wants a ham to go with the bird, I'll do a little one because only a few are fans of the ham. We'll start with soup again this year, we'll do broccoli cheese soup, roasted Bird, rib roast and a bitty ham, roasted garlic mashed taters, sauteed french string beans, corn on the cob and then one more side dish, don't know what yet. Better check my pantry, see what I need to get.
Good Lord, number 1 is talking about me making a list for X-mas. NOOOO! Not yet! Oh, the time just went off, time for dinner. Bye.

Saturday 11.07.09
Number 1, 6 and I went to my grandnephew A's pee wee football play off game. He plays for the Santa Monica Vikings. They won, 26 to 0. He did a good job, he played well. I think he's probably going to continue to play as he gets older. I am looking forward to more of his games since #3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 don't do sports any more. I miss that part of their childhood. So, until they give us some grand kids, I will enjoy A's games. Maybe his brother Lil A will get into sports next year when he goes to high school.
After the game we stopped off at Wendy's for a bite to eat. As we ate, the USC students were having kickball games at the soccer field across the street. They had music blaring and the neighborhood crackheads were dancing to it as they kicked back at the bus stop.
Once at home, number 1 went and did his plumbing he had to get done. Thank goodness it was an easy fix, which is rare. Most of the repairs usually turn into a big project because he'll find something else as he fixes one thing. I tackled the never ending laundry for a while, tomorrow I will fold.
We had dinner at Angelo's in Alhambra, #3 didn't join us though. We had a nice time, we had our usual table, the infamous "round table". I've been going there since junior year in high school (1978). Number 1 and I had our first date there in December 1980. It had been a few months since we had been there. The weather was nice, everyone was in a good mood, the food was good, the place wasn't crowded...it was nice.
I'm catching up on Heroes on the DVR right now. I love that show. I'm pooped, time for bed. I have to get up early to make sure #1 wakes up, he's working some OT tomorrow morning.

First Thoughts
I finally did it, created a blog. It will be a learning process, so bare with me. Let's see how long or how often I'll work on it.
Hmmm, what to talk about? Just got a phone call, looks like #1 has some unexpected work to do tomorrow. Possible leaking hot water heater at one of the apartments, plus a window needs replacing. Tenant T, instead of notifying one of us, covered the window with foil. Foil? Really? If it wasn't for #3 noticing the wet ground and the busted window, who knows when he would have said anything. The foil probably looks tacky and we pay the water bill!
Number 4, 5 and 6 bought DJ Hero yesterday. The upstairs is thumping right now. Cousin M (Hesperia) is visiting as is friend W. They are enjoying the new toy along with 4 & 6. I'll check it out later, later. Number 7 is at a concert downtown at the Palace Theater with his girlfriend A. Number 5 is still at work, she will soon join the rest and try out the new toy.
